Reset should be done only in extreme cases of technical issues (the device is unresponsive although powered), or before transferring the device to someone else.
NOTE: To transfer a Sound and Light device to another user, please reach out to our customer success team for assistance removing the device from your account.
There are two types of reset actions:
Hard reset: Wipes out stored wifi networks and returns the device setting to factory default. This action will erase Favorites and Routines:
-
- To perform a hard reset, once the device is powered and its power switch is set to “On”, press and hold the two bottom back buttons (decrease brightness and decrease volume) for at least 10 seconds.
- An indication of a successful reset is if the device flashes its lights 3 times and flashes the letter ‘P’ on the front 3 times.
- To use the device again, pairing will be needed.
Factory reset: all that the soft reset does, plus it removes any firmware updates that were installed since the device has been shipped out of the factory.
