- Make sure that the device is plugged to the outlet and that the power switch on the bottom of the device is set to “On”
- The pairing process won’t succeed without the device being in “Pairing mode” first. When in “pairing mode,” the device should flash 3 times and the letter “P” should flash 3 times on the front display. The device will be in pairing mode when powering up, as long as it is being unboxed for the first time or has gone through a reset process.
NOTE: The device will also be in pairing mode by pressing the top two back buttons (brightness and volume up) for 10 seconds
- Issues with the QR code scanning step:
- Make sure the correct QR code is being scanned; it is located on the bottom of the device
- Make sure mobile device is connected to home Wi-Fi and that this network is connected to the internet
- Do not pair a device that has already been paired by another user
- Issues with locating Wi-Fi network:
- The Nanit Sound and Light device only supports 2.4GHz networks
- The Nanit Sound and Light device only supports secure networks, with at least WPA2 encryption
- The Nanit Sound and Light device cannot be paired to a “captive portal” network (with a landing page that requires a username and or hotel room number)
- Try bringing the device closer to the router
- Pairing still fails?
- The Nanit Sound and Light only supports SSID (Wi-Fi network name) shorter than 31 characters (including spaces). Shorten your SSID and repeat the pairing process.
- The Nanit Sound and Light counts certain special characters (characters that are not letters, digits or spaces, such as: ' ! $) as more than one character towards the 31 characters limit. Remove some or all of the special characters from your SSID and repeat the pairing process.
