Here are the most important things to note when using the Smart Sheets measuring tool:
- Your baby’s head should be pointing upwards. If it isn't, tap the rotate button in the bottom right corner to rotate the image.
- You can pinch to zoom in the image to help you adjust the dots to the most accurate placement possible.
- Make sure the dots are positioned in the right location:
- Top of head: The highest point of your baby’s head, not including their hair. If your baby has a lot of hair, please do your best to lower the point until you believe it is aligned with your baby’s scalp.
- Bottom of neck: Centered at the bottom of your baby's neck. If you can't see their neck, use their shoulders as a guide and do your best to place the point midway between the top of their shoulders, even if the point ends up on your baby's face.
- Middle of hip: The center point between your baby’s hips. If you are unsure where your baby’s hips are, you can use the bend in their legs as a guide which is typically just below the waistline.
- Middle of the Knee: Right in the center of your baby's knee, where the leg bends. If your baby's leg is straight and you cannot locate their knee in the image, do your best to place the point approximately in the middle of their leg.
- Bottom of heel: The lowest point of your baby’s heel. This point is typically at the base of the foot just below the ankle. IF you cannot see the heel, use the angle as your guide and do your best to place the point a bit lower than the ankle, even if it ends up in the middle of the foot.
- After pressing “Calculate” if you still feel like the measuring tool is not positioned in the best way, you can tap ‘Back’ to re-adjust it.
- You can even edit the measuring tool after saving the measurement by visiting the Measurement list screen, tapping the measurement you wish to fix, and then choose “Edit”.
