Enabling the Local WiFi-Only Access for a Viewer on your parenting team will restrict their access when they are no longer connected to your camera WiFi network. No more toggling on and off (or forgetting to do so after they leave)!
When the Viewer with Local WiFi-Only Access is on the same WiFi as your camera, they will be able to see your camera’s livestream, but other permissions will be limited (read more about account types and restrictions here). When that user leaves the WiFi network that the camera is on, they will be automatically blocked from viewing the camera.
Note: The Nanit Pro Camera can only have four local connections at one time (two for Nanit Plus). If you have more than four devices connected to the camera locally, the viewer may not be able to view the camera’s livestream.
How do I set up Local Wifi-Only Access for a member of my parenting team?
- Open your Nanit App and use the hamburger menu to navigate to your camera’s settings
- Tap the team member whose permissions you’d like to update
- Ensure that their account type is “Viewer”
- Tap “Access Type” and select “Local WiFi-Only Access”
