One of Nanit’s core values is to always make sure our customer’s data is safe and secure. With features like User permissions, encrypted stream and Two-step verification we make sure to give you all the best ways to protect your privacy. This article shows you how to set up Two-step verification on your account and how to disable it when you need to.
What is Two-step verification?
Two-step verification is a common process to make sure no one can access your account without your permission. By enabling Two-step verification you are making your Nanit account more secure as you’ll need both your password and a 4 digit code to log in. The code will be sent to the phone number of your choosing, via text message, and will only be good for a one time use. Next time you’ll want to log in, you’ll get a new code.
Note: If you enable two-step verification, make sure all your devices (mobile phone and tablets) are running the most recent Nanit app version. Otherwise, you may be unable to log in to your Nanit account.
Do I have to set up Two-step verification to use Nanit?
No, Two-step verification is not mandatory but we highly recommend it to make sure your privacy is kept. We also recommend that you encourage other parenting team members to enable two-step verification on their Nanit accounts as well.
How to enable Two-step verification?
Follow these step to enable Two-step verification:
- Open your Nanit app
- Go to the settings tab
- Tap on your name to access your account settings
- Tap on “Account security”
- Toggle the button to turn Two-step verification on
- Follow the on-screen instructions to enter a phone number and enable Two-step verification
Note: Make sure the phone number you use for two-step verification will be available in the future. The code will be sent to the same phone number every time you sign into your account. We recommend not to set up two-step verification if you are using a temporary phone number.
How to disable Two-step verification?
Follow these step to disable Two-step verification:
