Here are the most important things to note while initiating Breathing Motion monitoring and selecting the Breathing Wear pattern:
- Look at your Nanit app and make sure the pattern is completely visible and not covered or obstructed by any other object like a blanket or the crib’s bars.
- Lay your baby down in the middle of the crib and not at the edges.
- Make sure Breathing Wear is snug around your baby, it shouldn’t be too tight or too loose. You should be able to fit 2 fingers below easily.
- Make sure the area with the pattern is flat and does not bunch up.
- In the initiation process, put the selector on the baby’s chest, in the area where you can see most of the pattern. The more pattern visible through the selector, the better.
- Use blank sheets in your baby’s crib or bassinet.
- Breathing Wear should not be put on thick fabrics. Use light clothing while using Breathing Wear.
- Don’t use both the Breathing Band and the Nanit Swaddle at the same time, choose only one for each sleep.
- Don’t leave any extra Breathing Wear items in or near the crib.
- Try to close the monitoring session as soon as you take your baby out of the crib.
- Mobiles on top of your baby’s crib may cause false alerts, we recommend not using them while monitoring Breathing Motion.
