Nanit Pro vs Nanit Plus: What Are the Differences?
Nanit recently launched the Nanit Pro, our newest flagship camera, and you may be wondering what the differences are between the Nanit Pro and our now older model Nanit Plus may be. Read this article to learn the key differences between the two cameras to help you make the decision about which one is right for you!
Image Quality
The image quality of the Nanit Pro is significantly improved from the previous model. The Nanit Pro features 1920×1080 pixel resolution or 1080p HD video. The Nanit Plus model features 1280x960 pixel resolution.
These updates to camera quality in the Nanit Pro also allow for a significantly improved Night vision experience.
The Night Light
The Nanit Pro features a new nightlight that gives off a warmer glow than the Nanit Plus. While the night light intensity is fully customizable within the Nanit App, the Nanit Pro’s new night light is stronger than the previous model’s.
The Status Light
A completely new addition to that hardware of the next generation Nanit Pro is the status light. The status light is a new LED light featured on the front of the Nanit Pro camera that will indicate different camera functions such as power cycling, Wi-Fi connectivity and pairing. On the previous Nanit Plus model, the night light functioned as the camera status light.
The Reset Button
On the previous model, the Nanit Plus, the reset button was a pinhole at the base of the camera body. In the updated Nanit Pro model, we have eliminated the pinhole reset button and have added a physical button to the side of the Nanit Pro camera body. This button now functions as both the reset button and the WiFi pairing button.
Nanit Pro Button Quick Reference Guide:
- A short press (less than 10 sec) puts the camera in pairing mode.
- A long press (more than 10 sec) will reset your Nanit Pro.
- A short press during a red alert will dismiss the alert’s sound.
Ambient Light Sensor
The Nanit Pro features an improved ambient light sensor. This updated ambient light sensor will allow for smoother transitions between day and night modes within the Nanit app.

The Nanit Pro retails for $299 USD while the Nanit Plus retails at $249 USD.
