The Growth Charts feature in the Nanit app allows parents to either manually log their child’s height, weight, and head circumference, or use Smart Sheets to automatically add height. By recording these measurements at regular intervals, you can watch your child grow and develop, and see your baby’s growth percentile as compared to the CDC’s Clinical Growth Charts. You’ll also have important data points to share with your child’s pediatrician, if needed.
Smart Sheets measure your child’s growth by using a unique printed pattern and Nanit algorithms to calculate height. Simply position your child and press Calculate, then add these measurements to the Nanit app Growth Chart as instructed below.
While it’s not necessary to have Smart Sheets to use Growth Charts, using Growth Charts and Smart Sheets together means you’ll be able to catch every milestone with even more ease and accuracy!

What are growth charts?
According to the CDC, “growth charts consist of a series of percentile curves that illustrate the distribution of selected body measurements in children. Pediatric growth charts have been used by pediatricians, nurses, and parents to track the growth of infants, children, and adolescents in the United States since 1977.
Growth charts are not intended to be used as a sole diagnostic instrument. Instead, growth charts are tools that contribute to forming an overall clinical impression for the child being measured.
Disclaimer: Nanit is using the official American National Center for Health Statistics growth tables and is intended for personal use only. In any contradiction or concern, please consult your pediatrician.
